best MANGO LASSI

Mango Lassi

HAPPY WEEKEND Everyone! Today i am sharing another one of my favorite recipes, the most refreshing drink on earth „a MANGO LASSI“.

The mango lassi drink is a cross between a smoothie and a milk shake and is smooth, creamy, and absolutely heavenly! It’s a great refreshment throughout the year, for the whole family. My kids, especially my oldest son loves it as much as i do… For me it’s the perfect refreshment after a great morning workout. It’s very healthy for your skin and hair, because it’s made with natural joghurt and yummie mangos… It’s very easy & fast to prepare. I always add just a little bit of honey to make it a bit more sweet and choose low-fat or fat-free yoghurt to cut the calories.

 

Ingredients for 2 Servings, 10 min

1 ripe Mangos

250 g low-fat Natural Yoghurt

1/2 teespoon freshly squeezed Lemon

1/2 tablespoon Honey or Sugar , optional

50 g ice cubes (It is really refreshing if you add some ice cubes)

 

Directions

Cut the juicy flesh off the mangos (the riper they are, the better), leaving the stone in the middle and trimming away all the skin. Place the flesh and any juices into a liquidiser with the lemon-juice, yoghurt, ice cubes and 1/2 tablespoon of honey or sugar (if using). Blend approximately 2 to 3 minutes until smooth, have a taste, and add a little more honey or sugar, if needed. Serve straightaway.

Additional Notes: Some people like to pour the mango mixture over ice cubes instead of blending the ice cubes in the drink.

The Mango Lassi can be kept refrigerated for up to 24 hours.

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you all have a great week! Todays post is about the SKIN & HEALTH. All of us, regardless of age and gender, crave for healthy and great looking skin. The chilly dry wind, low temperature, low humidity and indoor heating that come with winter can play crazy on your skin, lips and other parts of the body.

Walnuts

Walnuts are loaded with natural fatty acids and minerals. They make your skin softer and even out your complexion. A handful a couple times a week will get you great results.

Salmon

Salmon is one of the best food sources for omega-3 fatty acids, which helps keep your skin supple and moisturized. Salmon also has selenium, a mineral that protects the skin from sun exposure. The vitamin D in salmon keeps your bones and teeth strong and healthy, too. I love to eat salmon grilled in my pasta, with a salad, in sushi, or just with a side of asparagus.

Whole grains

Not only are they good to maintain your weight, but whole grains such as barley, wheat, millet and corn are responsible for giving you glowing skin. Whole grains contain active components like rutin and vitamin B that give you clear and moisturized skin. I am eating whole grains with my cereals, whole grain bread and whole wheat pasta. I am also baking and cooking (for example pfannkuchen) with whole wheat flour instead of white flour. It’s way more healthy and (the most important thing) for my kids it is equally delicious…:-)

Avocados

This truly is a miracle fruit. Not just the pulp, even the peel of avocados have high levels of vitamin B. Also high in niacin (b-3), it helps give you smooth, healthy skin and reduces the appearance of irritated, red or puffy skin. Avocados can be consumed in any way you fancy — chop them up and put them in a salad, blend them into a smoothie (i already posted a green smoothie recipe with avocados) or simply eat them as they are. I just love them sliced with some olive oil and salt & pepper.

Berries

All Berries especially strawberries and blueberries are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants that combat free radicals and that make your skin glow, and also have nutrients that prevent you from future breakouts. I prepare fruits for the whole family almost every day, just as a snack, as a breakfast with some yoghurt and musli or as fruit smoothie.

Yogurt

Yogurt is a staple in most Indian homes, so without realizing it, this wonder food is working secretly to make you look better. High in fibre and protein, yogurt creates more firm and elastic skin. If you want to boost the benefits, try Greek yogurt as it contains more than two times the amount of protein and fibre as regular blends of yogurt.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are the best source of the anti-aging antioxidant lycopene. Surprisingly, lycopene in tomatoes is more easily absorbed by your body when it is cooked or processed. So canned tomato sauce, tomato juice and ketchup are a very easy way to eat/drink tomatoes.

Mango

Mangoes contain more than 80% of the vitamin A you need to consume during a day, which helps maintain the skin and its overall appearance. Loaded with antioxidants, mangoes fight off free radicals, which mean, your skin looks younger for longer. Contrary to popular belief, it is low in calories, so not only will it help your skin, but it will also keep your waistline in check. Glowing Skin Smoothie

Happy Monday Everyone! I love when a new year begins because it means a fresh start with new goals! When the new year starts i always have a long list of goals and plans, but by february I’ve already given up on most of them…:-) This year I decided to focus just on ONE thing -BE HEALTIER !!!

Today i wanted to share one of my favorite GREEN SMOOTHIE recipes! I had this green Smoothie almost every Day for the past 4 weeks and have noticed a huge difference in not only my energy, but my skin has never looked better, my skin is glowing. And the best part? This green smoothie actually tastes really really good and it is the only green thing my kids also love…:-)

About the Ingredients

AVOCADO hydrate the skin, bringing back that glow we all love.

MANGOS contain carotenoids, which help our skin glow.

PINEAPPLES  are high in vitamin C, which I’ve learned is key to the production of collagen – giving our skin its firmness and strength.

SPINACH or KALE, both nutrient dense super foods, removing toxins from our bodies. I am trying to eat both as often as i can, either in an omelet, salad, wrap, homemade juice etc.

COCONUT WATER is hydrating and makes skin look more youthful and supple.

Just a few more things…

  • Do not add sugar. There is no added sugar in this smoothie recipe because we are using sweetness from the fruit. Mangoes, Bananas and Pineapples are plenty sweet, so there is no need for anything more.
  • No cans, please. Use only fresh or frozen ingredients.
  • If you’re replacing a meal with this smoothie, try adding a little flax or flax oil. Your skin needs oil to keep it lubricated. 2-3 teaspoons per serving is perfect.
  • The frozen banana and avocado leave it incredibly thick, the mango and pineapple sweeten things up, the coconut water adds a tropical flare, and the greens pack one HUGE nutrient punch. Your skin will love it.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup plain coconut water

1 2 frozen ripe bananas, previously peeled & sliced

1 cup chopped pineapple (frozen or fresh)

1 cup chopped mango (frozen or fresh)

2 cups spinach or kale 1/2 avocado, sliced

optional: 1 Tablespoon ground flax or flaxseed oil

Directions:

Make sure you have a strong, powerful blender. I like this Ninja or this Vitamix. Add all of the ingredients to the blender in the order listed. Blend on high for at least 3 minutes or until smooth. Scrape down the sides of the blender as needed. Add more coconut water if it’s too thick.

Additional Notes: Coconut water is ideal since it is so hydrating for our bodies and skin. If you absolutely cannot find it, use regular water or almond milk or your favorite juice. If not using coconut water, perhaps add a touch of coconut oil. Great for the skin. Try adding 1/2 cup blueberries. Another super food great for your skin! If you do not like any of the fruits listed, simply replace with another fruit used. Or add strawberries or blueberries.

Gingerbread Cookies

HAPPY NIKOLAUS Everyone!! I hope you all have a great weekend and a wonderful Nikolaus Day today…:-) Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year and also the busiest time of the year. I am always trying to find simple things to make life easier since everything is so crazy during Christmas.

My almost 3 year old daughter loves to bake and ask me every day if i could bake something with her. In the wintertime everybody loves cookies, so i have almost no excuse to say no to her…:-) Last year i found this easy Gingerbread Cookie Recipe… Aren’t they cute?! They are very simple & quick to prepare and everybody loves them.

GINGERBREAD COOKIES RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS

2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour, plus more for rolling
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, room temperature
1/3 cup (75g) packed dark-brown sugar
1/3 cup (4 oz) unsulfured molasses
1 large egg

DIRECTIONS

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, spices, baking soda, and salt; set aside. With an electric mixer, beat butter and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in molasses and egg. With mixer on low, add dry ingredients; mix just until a dough forms. Place dough on floured plastic wrap. Wrap well; chill until firm, 1 to 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 175 degrees Celsius. Divide dough in half. Working with one half at a time (rewrap and refrigerate other half), place dough on floured paper; roll out and cut out shapes. Transfer to baking sheets.
Bake until firm and edges just begin to darken, 10 to 18 minutes, depending on size. Cool completely on baking sheets.

Rezept – STRAWBERRY CRUMB CAKE

Guten Morgen Ihr Lieben & HAPPY FRIDAY! Heute moechte ich Euch ein weiteres meiner Lieblingsrezepte vorstellen. Ein typischer deutscher Erdbeerkuchen mit Streuseln. Auch dieses Rezept habe ich von meiner Oma und backe es immer wieder gerne.

Jeder liebt diesen Kuchen und ich habe ihn schon mit Aepfeln, Himbeeren und Erdbeeren gebacken. Im Sommer nehme ich immer frische Beeren und im Winter gefrostete. Ich liebe das Rezept, weil es so schnell geht und immer gut ankommt.


Good Morning Everyone & HAPPY FRIDAY! Today i wanted to share one more of my favorite Recipes. A typical german Strawberry Crumb Cake. It is also an old recipe from my Grandma. Everybody loved that cake and you can bake it with Apples, Rasberrys or Strawberrys. In the Summertime i always use the fresh fruits and in the wintertime sometimes frosted Berries. I love this recipe, because it goes very simple and quick and it is always yummie.

Zutaten/ Ingredients

150 g Mehl / Flour

65 g Zucker/ Sugar

65 g Butter/ Butter

1 Ei/ Egg

1/2 Tl Backpulver, Baking Powder

1 Pck. Vanillezucker/ Vanilla Sugar

 

Fuellung/ Filling:

750g Erdbeeren/ Strawberrys (frosted or fresh)

 

Streusel/ Crumbs:

200g Mehl/ Flour

150 g Zucker / Sugar

150 g Butter/ Butter

1 Pck. Vanillezucker/ Vanilla Sugar

 

Zubereitung

Heize den Ofen vor auf 175 Grad Celsius. Fette und bemehle eine 26er Springform. Erstelle einen Teig aus den ersten 6 Zutaten. Druecke den Teig als Boden in die Form, bake it for 10 min. Nimm ihn aus dem Ofen. Verteile die Erdbeeren auf den Boden. Verruehre danach alle Zutaten fuer die Streusel. Gib die Streusel auf die Erdbeeren und backe den Kuchen ca. 35-45 min. Danach den Kuchen warm oder kalt geniessen. Warm ist es total lecker mit Vanilleeis.

Preparation

Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease the bottom and halfway up the sides of a 9 inch springform pan. Mix together the first 6 Ingredients. Put the dough into the pan and bake it for 10min. Remove it from the oven. Pour the strawberrys into the pan. Mix all ingredients for the crumbs together. Put the crumbs on top of the strawberrys. Bake the cake for about 35-45minutes. Turn off the oven. Enjoy the cake warm or cold! It is also really yummie warm with vanilla ice cream.
